I'm not planning to change my Twitter username from "Evan Greer is on Mastodon," which apparently may or may not violate Musk's latest anti-speech policy of banning promotion of alternative social media sites so...
...getting banned on Twitter feels like it's a matter of when not if at this point.

We've reached the point of refusing to disperse since the order is illegitimate... folk taking the pepper spray and tear gas (i.e. getting Twitter accounts nuked) simply becomes a badge of honor.
@me @evangreer it's not a perfect analogy, true. Physical violence at the hands of the state is not equivalent to institutional oppression at the hands of private actors.
But there's a certain camaraderie among everyone who has now found their line in the sand and is not going to be walked back from it but is instead waiting to see the (rhetorical) truncheons get swung.
