I guess 'we did it' and Elon sees the danger of #Mastodon to his new #Twitter

Only a scared man would act so childish and ban links to other socials haha!

Sorry but I cannot take the platform or it's staff serious anymore  Twitter has failed drastically with Elon at the steering wheel

#Mastodon #Fediverse

@stux as he is now encouraging anti competitive behavior of the company, it will become embroiled in lawsuits and the offended companies can file claims
@stux sure fire way to bankruptcy

@stux this is getting comical, elon must have gotten threatened by either American or European govts!!

attempts of monopoly are usually met with legal repercussions!

Judd Legum on Twitter

“UPDATE: The tweets by @TwitterSupport this morning, announcing a new policy banning linking to competing websites, have been deleted. The policy itself was deleted from Twitter’s website.”

Twitter
@stux dit is wat Musk er eerder dit jaar zelf over zei. Dan weet je wie ‘The bad one’ is.
@stux But we cannot take up the slack because Mastodon, by design, cannot do things that people need that Twitter does well (e.g., increase reach). Twitter failing is a lose-lose proposition for all of us. It's a solvable problem, but I don't see it being solved.

@allenholub Well, it's more organic on here

With reach you mean the paid tweets and such?

@stux
No. More the way that people discover people they don't know about—network effect. Twitter has been both a great publishing and a great marketing vehicle for me because I can present my ideas to so many people—even ones I don't know who don't know about me. That's harder to do on Mastodon. I've never paid to promote a tweet, so I don't miss that 😄.
@stux Thanks for all of your work here!
@stux i guess now it's "mastodon take the wheel" 😎
@stux he is not blocking links to gap, parler or truth social
@stux he just fallen under the EU anti-competitive act and it will cost him dearly ~ like the post office refusing to deliver a letter to UPS, or UPS to deliver a parcel to Fedex .... sure the same will apply in the US.
@stux We will know for sure when he starts begging us banned accounts to come back. Which he's started doing for some of the journos...
@stux Ironically, the harder he tries to limit the exodus, the faster they leave. Yesterday the pace for Mastodon signups was around 2000 per hour; currently it’s over 5000.
@stux What I like to ponder is how it will end for Twitter. Will it just go bankrupt? Will it become way more toxic & loony then it is now. Will advertisers leave in increasing numbers? So many possibilities
@RonnieW @stux my guess is that Twitter will become increasingly irrelevant and follow an evolutionary path similar to Myspace.
@IMKind @stux Think it'll be a close run thing between that & bankruptcy
@stux That didn’t take long 🥶

@stux This new wave of Twitter migration will include more users that were okay with Elon up until their promotional social links are forbidden.

Be prepare for these libertarians to start making demands / pressures to instance policy to be more capitalist / libertarian friendly.

Push back against those.

@stux Look what he's up to now tho lol.
@stux Thing is that I want him to step down, both from Twitter and Tesla, but I only go to Twitter to say mean things about Elon now, and won't be buying his cars because I don't give money to Nazis. He'd have to give up ownership of both to change those things.
