Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.

#THREAD : Not only journalists, but other content creators have grown to rely on #TheBirdSite for gig notifications, networking, industry information/news, & more.

"Just leave...Now" is far easier said than done for many folks.

We need to stop bashing the folks who keep the other acct open, and start building a place here that CAN replace the other site. To do that, we need journalists, politicians, corporations/businesses, & a lot more.

Let's focus our energy on getting accounts to migrate that offer gig jobs, news for the entertainment industry & other professions, bloggers/video creators/influencers, major corporations, etc.

We can't expect people to jump off the Titanic if they don't believe there are lifeboats waiting. If they have anything underfoot there at all, they won't jump off until we offer them VIABLE options.

Today, I saw a video on #YouTube from #DavidPackman . His acct banner asks people to follow him on Tw!tter, but he's not on Mastodon. My comment to his video invited him to join us here, pointing to the huge amount of traffic on Mastodon.

Influencers need that, so mention it.

#BrianTylerCohen, another huge Dem influencer, has started an acct here. Follow him here in impressive numbers so he CAN shut down his bird acct: @briantylercohen .

It's not easy to give up on something you put time and effort in, but sometimes you need to look ahead and move forward by letting go of the past.

Even with any other business: Twitter can be a way to connect with clients, but so is Instagram, YouTube, facebook, your own company website, ... Would be stupid to put all your eggs in one basket and keep yourself hostage to a lunatic.

I don't know what it is like to be a journalist in the current media landscape, but I know that the journalists should be the ones that scare the rich and powerful, not the other way around.

I waited a little bit to see what it would look like under Musk, but I didn't want to be part of a company that sacks half of its workers to let the others work double and spend the night at the office, away from their families. That's slavery.
