After a little bit of faff I got my ZBT-2 setup as a thread border router / antenna and got my first #Matter over #Thread device online. The Timmerflotte Hydrogometer from #IKEA.

Device is bigger than I expected (hand for scale). Setup was easy enough but had to reboot #HomeAssistant and turn off some Matter/Thread stuff I tried to set up previously then it worked. Now I know it works I have two more sensors to set up when I have some more batteries.

How Nitrocid solves problems related to threading?

Aptivi Newsroom has just published an article explaining how Nitrocid solves problems related to threading when it comes to managing threads. This includes stopping and restarting the same thread without creating a new class instance of the thread by abstracting this procedure away from end developers.

When Nitrocid’s kernel thread management system was first introduced, it was made as a solution to a common issue that talked about restarting the same thread without a new instance of the thread class.

This system has also managed nested threads in workloads that may benefit from such feature, such as rendering threads or other threads that may benefit from more than one CPU. This feature was known as child threads.

Over the last few days I have been arguing with my hosting service provider (Domainfactory). I have been happy with the service for over 12 years and have added several services from them to my package over time (domains, hosting, email etc).

I now feel like I need to share some of my experiences to help others consider whether they should choose to (not) use their services.
