Limiting access to extremely dangerous content (e.g., medical hoaxes during raging pandemic, explicit Nazi propaganda, or orchestration of insurrection) after a clear deliberative process, is very different than banning whatever content one right-wing extremist decides (e.g., factual reporting that paints a negative picture of one of his companies, or arguments for free speech)
Musk owns Twitter and can run it as his own person right-wing fiefdom, but attempts to falsely equate his rule with the previous ownership mock the serious threat he poses by turning Twitter into a right-wing tool, that too many still think of as an open forum of ideas and dialogue.
Mainstream Media views Twitter as too valuable of distribution to upset its right-wing leadership, that is why NBC suspended a reporter for his factual reporting upsetting Musk. If Musk can suspend any reporter or news organization that he wants at any time, and these entities think they need Twitter, how is they going to affect their reporting on topics such as Musk, Twitter, Tesla, and/or right-wing extremism?
Longer Mainstream Media perpetuates myth of Musk the worse his vice on them will become: they must face reality and help break Twitter’s central position in agenda setting & distribution of news before it is too late!
@DavMicRot their reporting on those topics is already irrevocably compromised and can't be taken seriously

@DavMicRot

At first that will be the thinking. However with his recent actions, usership is taking a hit. As more show up to #Mastodon, #Tribe, and #Post, advertisers will notice they no longer have the eyeballs to have an ROI on advert$$$. Once they pull out, all that will be funding Twitter is #Musk own nestegg, and a few fanatics willing to pay $8 to try and shit own the libs that already left in droves.
