Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.

@taylorlorenz and apparently it's because of this lady's tweet complaining about an NYT article you wrote in 2020?
@taylorlorenz or rather, that's the justification he's listing.
@taylorlorenz also, weird how often this lady pops up these days
@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz I posted on Twitter about watching The Vow, and Nicki Clyne (who I've never interacted with in any way) responded with this whole weird screed. It was weird. She is out there searching social media for random users and shaming them for watching a documentary lol. Like, "You know this is behavior that just adds to the case the doc is making, right?" I am absolutely NOBODY, yelling at me does nothing for her. I didn't even mention her. One of the weirder interactions I've ever had on Twitter, which says A LOT.
@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz Seems to me like she’s been trying to defend/rehabilitate Nxivm through the IDW/heterodox.
Trying to Make It Big Online? Getting Signed Isn’t Everything

Young people come to Los Angeles in droves with dreams of fame and fortune. Once they’re discovered, it’s not always sunny.

@peternocturnal @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz
There’s a Zillow link for one of the houses being listed for sale. That’s as close as I can find. Nothing about that link could be remotely called doxxing.
The article, on the other hand, shows one seriously bad person doing some very bad stuff. I can see where “Ari” might not want that clearly reported…
@peternocturnal @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz There is an address if you follow the Zillow link, but I'd hardly call it doxing since it's a shut down influencer house that was being sold.
@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz ah, in that case let’s see their response to Mike Cernovich having doxed me on Twitter.
@anildash @taylorlorenz it's been so wild to watch weird right-wing people on Twitter being like, "Ah ha! Not so fun when the shoe's on the other foot!" as if his "I'm suspending anyone I don't like" attitude is at all comparable to period management.

@anildash @taylorlorenz er, previous management.

I wonder how many of them have truly internalized the nonsense narrative that Twitter was "censoring conservatives" and actually, somehow, believe that libertarian Jack Dorsey was sitting around banning (his fellow) conservatives for no reason.

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz all of them have. It’s a fundamental tenet of faith for all of the dudes in this sphere, and they’ll fire anyone who dissents.
@anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz That a bunch of very well known right wing harassers who have repeatedly doxxed people are not banned says everything about what they believe: it’s not just that they believe twitter was previously banning conservatives, it’s that they don’t think the same rules should apply to their allie’s.
@parkermolloy @anildash @taylorlorenz lumping in Jack Dorsey with “fellow conservatives” is about as reasonable as lumping you in with Joe Manchin.
@diocletian @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz ah, really? Because I think it’s accurate and I’ve known him for about 17 years. What about you?
@anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz I’ve known him personally for about as long as you’ve known Manchin personally, I imagine.

@diocletian @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

“granted, we are arguing about someone I don’t personally know and you DO, but on the other hand, I mentioned a second person NEITHER of us know, so … checkmate?”

@Randbot @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz nice try, but, when someone says “X is like Y” (which is what I did), personally knowing one but the not the other doesn’t really give you a leg up since the comparison, being, you know, a comparison, involves both. That was my point. Hope this helps.
@diocletian @Randbot @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz I suggest you take a pause to untie the knot you put your own brain in
@matunos @Randbot @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz tell me you don’t follow the conversation without telling me you don’t follow the conversation, etc etc
@diocletian @Randbot @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz oh I'm following it, you just don't make nearly as
much sense as you think you do
@matunos @Randbot @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz I have no doubt you think you’re following it. That was never in dispute.
@matunos @parkermolloy @diocletian @taylorlorenz @anildash @Randbot lol we are following it just fine and you look like a nut

@diocletian your comparison boils down to “calling Dorsey ‘a conservative’ is like calling Mancini ‘a liberal’”.

But you know neither, so why should we give your comparison any weight (which Dash doesn’t, since he DOES know Dorsey and can thus evaluate the first half, not to mention that Manchin is an actual politician who makes his political views known all the time so we can ALL easily evaluate the second half)

@anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

Ah Diocletian became my first BLOCK on Mastodon. Milestone!

@Anthrodiva @anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz Reasonable reaction by someone with valid counter arguments, fo sho
@parkermolloy @anildash @taylorlorenz people complaining about being silenced pre musk won't make the comparison
@parkermolloy @anildash @taylorlorenz There's an edit feature that works here.
@parkermolloy @anildash @taylorlorenz yeah “now you know how we nazis feel when we’re persecuted” isn’t the sick burn they think it is
@parkermolloy @anildash @taylorlorenz It’s the bread and butter of whataboutism - you know, one of the few rhetoric tricks they learned in orc-school.

@anildash @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

good luck getting musk to recognize the doxxing of liberals as shameful. he has no shame..

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz sounds like bullshit fabricated to justify a predetermined decision
@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz
He's got so much time to be a social fruitbat.

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

According to Wikipedia, Lorenz seems to be a controversial investigative journalist, having already experience in doxing (in both ways).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Lorenz

I have no background on the Arianda Jacob story, but banning someone for something they may have done years ago in a different context seems very indiscriminate

@[email protected] @[email protected] I read the article. There's no address in it. Getting outed as a shitty person isn't the same as being "doxxed" 😂 https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/14/style/influences-tiktok-management-brittany-broski.html?unlocked_article_code=EnTzMP6xVvbD5ixtuGYYVnjQrp8Ck_XEyrwl4QkqhSc76c6Kze4xij_L1ytFmAMm03HZL4P7dPNSNjmMjBth-E_Qet6lTUVrts_m7nos7comUSje6HC8JhzlYYBEh5PcLE3iJzJOaNr3CFkWIy-Rci-7i9o57QraS8hdaTVm-GFmf7SIMGpmPw2jigEryTqJ5zocFjKlf754nMuk-3LIzffvCTF_MTwTI1P9PONzSjuvgwST94AOTTsVJlG3AwLFAwgFle3cjkgWX7OAoXP5V0Boucyh4tGT5VEgyJJX0juXkgAlSs9qN7qXJU_HJBkfVX2WR5Pkdgq0NtCerRd8fNrtnV37Z94K-reG-Sia_REU

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

Is libs of tiktok banned then? I mean if this is based on anything and retroactive forever?

(I know the answer, I think)

@taylorlorenz @futurebird @parkermolloy of course not — she and elon are working for the same team

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz I've read the article and I can see no legitimate grounds for a claim of doxing.

Trying to Make It Big Online? Getting Signed Isn’t Everything

Young people come to Los Angeles in droves with dreams of fame and fortune. Once they’re discovered, it’s not always sunny.

@bullivant @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz The claim seems to be based on the fact that the Zillow link reveals the address.
@bullivant @taylorlorenz @kcivey @parkermolloy
It reveals *an* address. Nothing says that address was where the seriously f’ed person lived. She’s just pissed she got called out for being a horrible person and business woman.

@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz

I wonder if there was any due process involved here. Did Ariadna Jacob actually have to show Elon (or his subordinate) the NYT article in question so they could verify her claim? Or did they just take her word for it.

It is a dark day for journalism if they just took her word for it. If that's the case, then ANYONE could get a journalist's account suspended by lying to Elon.

Justia Law
@haploc @parkermolloy @taylorlorenz Might have been better if the lawsuit ended up being against Musk instead and was not getting thrown out by some moronic judge who needs to be disbarred from the bench.
@parkermolloy @taylorlorenz there’s nothing in that article that doxes anyone. This lady is angry that her grift was exposed.
