Sure, I could watch this on 4k or Blu-ray or DVD or VHS or that other VHS or.... Or.... Laserdisc! #StarTrek #TOS #tmp #TheMotionPicture #laserdisc #movies #cinema #scifi #physicalmedia
@derreckmayer laser disc has always fascinated me. It never made it into our home. We were a vhs family until around 2001-02. So neat to see a setup in use! Thanks for sharing.
@heel_dan I'm glad you liked it! I was in the same boat. I actually only got into collecting LDs this year when a friend was wanting to offload their player.

@derreckmayer Oh my gods, someone ELSE with a Laserdisc player!

Husband Unit collected them long before we met. Now we have about three feet of precious closet space taken up by them.

@SazeracLA I've always been interested in the technology but only recently got my own player. It's been a fun process. I got lucky though. A buddy of mine gifted me his whole collection... 113 movies!
@derreckmayer Wow! I will say, they may be standard def and you have to flip the discs, but they had great uncompressed audio, and many of them had great extras that were never licensed for DVD or Blu-ray.
@SazeracLA I love physical media and tech history, so it's pretty cool diving into it and seeing the differences between this and VHS, DVD, etc.
