Freedom Klanvoy participants/enthusiasts: 0
Putin-defending disinformation bots: 0
Genocide deniers (any genocide): 0
Qanon folks: 0
Misanthropic cranks arguing in bad faith: 0

I don't know if my experience is broadly representative of The Mastodon Experience In General, or if it's going to hold, but... maaaaan alive I'm enjoying this.

Choosing to remain on twitter is like opting to stay in a closed room with no windows or ventilation that's gradually being pumped full of poisonous gas.

Mastodon's very literally (by which I mean metaphorically) a breath of fresh air.

@chriscaple I agree. I had thought that I wasn’t affected by the nastier side of Twitter - until I changed over to #Mastodon Over here feels like Twitter used to in the beginning,and given how it is set up, I honestly can’t see how it could ever end up the same way.

have run into a few antarchists who were arguing in bad faith but i blocked them, run into a little club of leftwing assholes lying and jumping my shit, blocked the whole instance. except for those tow incidents and a nasty warning from my own instance, its been a lovely month!

These are rare here. Till you realise that mastodon literally has more moderation "staff" then twitter ever had.

Yes every instance admin is at least one part time moderator. Or his instance ends up defederated.

@chriscaple I have some bad news for you. Those people are out there. The server you’re on probably blocks most of them at the instance level but if you look at the Federated feed long enough you’ll spot that content. The difference is that here it’s easier to avoid.
