Update on the situation with Twitch adding anti-autistic hate group Autism $peaks to their charity list and refusing to take it off:

After a petition from thousands of autistic folks and allies got shut down, we're begging Twitch to at least stop merging requests and closing comments on this issue so that our concerns can actually be heard. Right now, it looks like they're pretty determined to ignore us.

The only (dubious) step forward is that they added the Autistic Women's and Nonbinary Network to their charity list, as though that somehow cancels out supporting an org that doesn't want autistic people to exist.

Given this response, we're asking you to #BoycottTwitch until they remove A$ from their charity list!

@autisticompulsive @becflop @actuallyautistic didn’t they also start supporting the LBG Alliance? I’m both autistic and trans, so it’s a double whammy of the ableist bs autism speaks pulls and then supporting a group of people who are major transphobes who are trying to claim they are just “speaking for LGB” people (when really they want trans people gone).
Again, both autistic and trans here. So just wanted to call that to attention too.

Yes, they did, but after the outcry they chose to remove the LGB Alliance but keep Autism Speaks. (Yesterday or the day before, I think.) Which suggests the decision to remove the former was empty lip service, but that's why the conversation is more focused on the latter right now.

@autisticompulsive @becflop @actuallyautistic rather than boycott Twitch, do the same as done over the hate raids, organise a "strike", and awareness campaign, and get bigger streamers on board.
