maybe twitter's URL censoring is so easily circumvented because all the software engineers still there are desperately trying to keep their lines of code metrics as high as possible
before i end up being the source of fake news: this is a joke screenshot. i do not have access to twitter's source code.

@sharding @molly0xfff Would be expensive and erratic though.

Maybe that’s where they’ve got to.

@sharding @molly0xfff my brains instant reaction to this was to hum "m-i-c k-e-y..." and now it is stuck in my head, damn you
@sharding @molly0xfff A sudden spike in computers located in San Francisco running "apt-get install m4"

With alt text (it’s the thing to do here!)

@sharding @molly0xfff “Extremely Hardcore Software Engineering”
@sharding @molly0xfff I saw this image and already got the joke before checking the original toot. 💀
@sharding @molly0xfff if I worked anywhere having that kind of metric I’d start looking for a new job and I’d most likely make some kind of automation to write the most verbose code possible
@molly0xfff you say it's a joke, but it's probably not *that* different.
@molly0xfff it might not be that much of a joke. QElon fired all of the software devs who would find something better than a huge if..else tree...
@molly0xfff you forgot mastodon.ie! @donieosullivan won’t be impressed 😂 #mastodonie
@molly0xfff Wouldn't be surprised if that was how it really worked!

@molly0xfff

Lol too late - but the manufactured context I put in my tweet is actually really funny and I also used the picture as a pointer, so win/win.

Your handle was not associated in any way, I take full responsibility for my own actions

Thanks for the prop 🤙😎

@molly0xfff Please print this out and mail it to me.
@molly0xfff wHy ArEn'T tHeY uSiNg SwItCh sTaTeMeNtS 🤓

@molly0xfff I was just making a joke about how nobody there seems to know what regex is lol

But I bet they know what switch case is 🤣

@molly0xfff I mean, it is easy to believe this is real.
@molly0xfff if you don't say this I would believe it 😂 says more about my perception of them than about me
@molly0xfff
In the age of 'Alternative Facts' that's a bold strategy Cotton, lets see how much fake news runs with it.
@molly0xfff I thought it was funny... if that counts for anything 😂

@molly0xfff this is

certainly a thing lmao

@molly0xfff Please tell me this is a funny haha snippet and not someone that leaked their parsing code for this...
@gabeweiss @molly0xfff
It's a Poe joke: it's a joke, but ridiculously credible.
@molly0xfff Not even a switch statement, smh
@gregandcin @molly0xfff
Python is a sub language, it doesn't know how to switch.

@riderexmachina @gregandcin @molly0xfff

I present to you, the cursed python switch statement (before 3.10 after 3.10 it is actually supported):

Good for Python. I knew it'd get comfortable with itself one day.
@molly0xfff omg this can't be real?
@molly0xfff This is hilarious, and probably true, and probably geohotz wrote those too.
@molly0xfff this is some amateur-level shit, lol.
@molly0xfff Is this real? And I have thought, that ruby was the language for Twitter in the old days. But this seems to be pythons

@molly0xfff

I was wondering because I saw lots of people unable to add their Mastodon link to their bio, but I had no issues with it today. But I'm using a custom domain.

@molly0xfff Wouldn't surprise me. They're certainly *not* trying to recognise Mastodon from the contents of the target page, given e.g. my entirely vanilla Mastodon installation is flying under the radar (I have even posted links to posts on my instance that links to banned Mastodon instances), so they can't be doing anything terribly smart.
@molly0xfff yanderedev style programming i see

@molly0xfff Lmao. Turning all my map()s back to nested loops so deep that they stretch into hell itself.

Elon: "Hmm, yes, very good".

@molly0xfff I thought you were being a 1337 hax0r and doing a show source in your browser.
@molly0xfff You can abuse the codecoverage module to no end to cause havoc for dev teams. No ill will needs to be intended, just poor management regarding an overly dogmatic policy.
@molly0xfff I wouldn’t be surprised really. Is that image genuinely a snippet of their code, or is that a funny mock-up?
@touk You think S'mores.town is notorious enough to get us on this list? 👀
@molly0xfff I think this code snippet implies the existence of an "ElonException" in the codebase too for another category of strings 😂
