ICYMI: Wood Mackenzie / SEIA figures are validating what ACP previously reported. U.S. Q3 2022 #Solar installations are down 17% y-o-y, and 2022 will be the slowest year for installations since 2019. This is largely as a result of UFLPA detentions, but also the impacts of the Hoshine WRO & anti-circumvention investigation.

Trade and Supply Chain Barriers Delay Impact of Historic Clean Energy Law | SEIA

WASHINGTON, D.C. and HOUSTON, TX — The U.S. added 4.6 gigawatts (GW) of new solar capacity in Q3 2022, a 17% decrease from the same quarter last year as trade barriers and ongoing supply chain constraints continue to slow America’s clean energy progress.

One thing I should note here: While I don't have exact knowledge about what kinds of polysilicon are being used in every shipment, I do know that some of the shipments that have been detained under UFLPA have polysilicon from Wacker (Germany, US), Hemlock (US) and Tongwei (China, non-Xinjiang). So at least some if not all of these detentions are of product using non-Xinjiang polysilicon. /2

Additionally, some shipments have been released, and these are of modules that use Wacker poly. Wacker has no polysilicon production in China, let along Xinjiang. It took Customs 5 months to begin to clear and release these shipments.

This is frankly not promising re: the overall market impact of UFLPA. /3
