Our build agent windows server has already gone on vacation (or is it the most secure settings possible, thinks it's air gapped?) Either way.. I think I'll go ahead and put on a pot of coffee now. This server lost it's windows activation. and can't reactivate. So I check the network settings .. and took this screenshot **over RDP**
@cinja we make our smart hands tell us when they are done working in the data center, every time they are in there, so we can check for physical layer drama. Good luck
@colinhay3s Thanks.. I know for a fact it's not physical. That screen was RDP, not remote console. Ping and nslookup also work fine. Networking is in fact working, it's only the parts of windows, that ask it's own subsystems if it has networking (instead of checking directly) that are failing.
@cinja that server is having an existential crisis.
@bluecat Disks have been cloned, backups refreshed ... about to burn the whole thing. aka: "upgrade" to server 2022, last ditch effort before actually just nuking it and starting fresh. Can't even complete a DISM with local media mounted.
@cinja so weird, but I have actually had similar issues before, annnnd... ended up nuking. Never on a server though, just a user endpoint. Good luck!
