@floregonian I havenāt figured out how to even read my federated feed so I donāt have a lot of motivation to switch. I tried to join the one for anarchists but it didnāt work and I got impatient, lol.
@Ariellec I left a smaller instance to go to the original, largest one because I was getting a āoh, are you new here?!?!?ā vibe. Iām happy to help you move instances if you want, but it probably isnāt necessary. Iām no expert, but Iāve done it once and it was fine but absolutely not perfect. All of my followers came with me. And I had to refollow everyone else.
@Ariellec and yes, some folks find a server full of like-minded folks, but honestly, thatās not interesting to me, so my local feed (and federated feed) isnāt actually that valuable to me. #mastodonfc is interesting. #blackfriday is interesting. Iām going to be driven by hashtags more than local users because Iām desperately looking to be challenged (and edified/educated) by diversity.

Iād welcome some clarification on #instance #migration on what it looks like to your #followers when you show up following them on a new instance. I think this is one of those weekly/monthly #fediverse #housekeeping steps where you probably should scan through your followers to find the ones you want to follow back (or #unfollow).
