@Alex_Verbeek I love this painting. Photos of my mother as a young woman are so striking in their similarity that one would swear she was the model for the painting. So it holds a very special place for me.

@Alex_Verbeek I'd say The Geographer. I must admit that I have used several of his paintings, including the pearl, in teaching to tell a story about power and representation.
