COVID.gov

@shanselman And if you have previous tests left over, the expiration date might have been extended on them: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests#list

I found out some of ours are good through the end of January

@jaredharley from my pov they are likely good for a few years and Iโ€™m gonna use em!
@shanselman will be very interesting to see how a post like this spreads on Mastodon's network.
@shanselman to see how well news spreads on the network compared to a centralized network of Twitter where something like this might get tons of shares. The ability of Mastodon to share important news wide is not something that I've seen a lot of evidence of.
@mcneely good point! Letโ€™s see!
@mcneely ultimate itโ€™s about boosts. This is a non-algorithmic place so humans need to human, here.
@shanselman Just ordered mine, thank you!
@shanselman thanks for the PSA!
How is it that I didn't know this? I like to think of myself as an informed citizen. I even watch local newscasts ๐Ÿ™ƒ

@shanselman

Thanks!

This also lead me to notice that
if you still have some slightly older #COVID tests, the expiration dates have been extended on many of them:

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests#list

@shanselman just ordered mine thank you!

@shanselman I got mine quickly enough, but the expiration date is January 2023. Now, I know the FDA has lengthened the useful lifespan of some tests to several months beyond their expiration dates. Still, itโ€™s hard to shake the feeling that the manufacturers see this an an easy way to clear out dead stock.

#COVID19 #CovidIsNotOver #FdA

@shanselman Medicare will apparently pay for eight rapid antigen tests per month.
