Yep. Of course, this is a product of community size and evolutionary stage. There's no reason that it shouldn't go the way of all internet communities which grow. Obviously, I hope not but this has played out a lot of times already now. Perhaps Mastodon has the magic key to preventing that fate? I'm sceptical =)

@kaffiene I can understand the skepticism. But take heart in this: If an instance starts to become just a money grab or a cesspool of hate, we can always leave it, and build better. That's the beauty of the #fediverse.
