On #Twitter, my timeline was set to latest rather than "Home" -- the algorithmic / recommended tweets. I never worried much about missing an important tweet because I followed enough active people that retweets always kept me in the loop. That's less so here on #Mastodon as it's still growing. So a tip! I find it really useful to enable notifications for key accounts you don't want to miss posts from. Then when you go to your notifications, there they all are!
@dannysullivan thank you, Danny. Here's a visual to turn on notifications
#Mastodon

@markbarrus @dannysullivan (unless I missed it) it’s not available on my instance ( from the App Store) but is there on the mobile safari page and probably desktop. 100% this is all an evolving thing, early twitteresque. On the one hand I like the diversity of feature options across instances ( longer form text for some) but on the other, from a UI perspective I’d like more uniformity.

Can’t have it all on separately managed systems I guess, I see forks ahead in the road…

@Robwatts @markbarrus @dannysullivan This instance is standard out of the box v4 Rob. The alert bell Mark is pointing out is on the desktop/web view which has all sorts of alerts - I’m not sure why they are not in the app. I’m using Toot! on the iPhone and its very different but has the same functions as the Mastodon app so i think its the apps that beed to catch up. V4 is new.
