A new week, and sadly a high likelihood of a new series of crazy moves by Musk on Twitter.

Which makes me all the happier to have a presence here on Mastodon, in all its varied Fediverse forms, where moderation is (mostly) active and aware in keeping things sane.

Hopefully I'll be interacting with more of you here soon as 2023 arrives and Twitter starts to flame out. I'll be sticking things out there, but likely less active the crazier it gets.

We'll see. Stay safe, my friends!

@sciencenotdogma shocked and saddened by musk's tweet on Sunday. He has money, power and an audience, and he uses all that to attack minorities and excite hate.

@alexandrad1 it's shocking, but as I've said for years, the #EvilRich don't operate on the same level of reality as the 99%:

"In less than a month, Musk has bulldozed more than a decade’s worth of efforts to establish moderation systems—however imperfect—that serve to both block damaging speech and boost healthy discourse on the platform. He has put on an absolute master class in mismanagement, and tweeted through it all the while."

Yet, I still hope for sanity.

Twitter Is Being Destroyed by One of Its Worst Main Characters

Elon Musk bought Twitter in late October. Since then, he’s bulldozed the platform’s regulatory features, allowed hate speech to fester, and let most of the company’s staff go. What comes next?
