I paid a visit to my favourite Beech tree again today. It was misty and cold, but its roots stretched out towards me like a warm, welcoming hand, covered in a carpet of moss

@abejaclaustro They really are. And the soft crunch of the husks on the ground when you walk beneath them, adds to it all. Wonderful all round
