The problem of #FOSS and #opensource without "politics" is that you have #feudalism as governance. Yes, we get "better" kings.

Why do we still do this shit, the #4opens and #OGB is a "permissionless" path out of this mess?

#OMN is you and me, not just me, please think on this.

@witchescauldron I'm interested in hearing more. What do these hashtags mean?

@MrLocal THE #OMN projects are about changing society and what it is to be human, no small task, but we are likely fucked without this change #cop27

The hashtags are #4opens process.

@witchescauldron I'm not sold on the democratizing quality of hashtags. How much traction has the OBG had up until now, how much membership has it seen?

@MrLocal what would you replace them with?

Ideas please... not the whole #OMN is based focsonamey so it's kinda core.

@witchescauldron My ideas try to deemphasize trends and be less hype driven which hashtags feed into too much, but I'm not really equipped to demonstrate what they would look like. Right now my focus is on trying to explore how the Fediverse works, and I'm getting very frustrated at the lack of information on the technical side.
@witchescauldron The problem that I see is that people don't really have memory. We don't have institutions or habits that develop a real sense of history.
@witchescauldron
How many times have we heard about legislative battles about net neutrality and had to fight over X or Y bill? It's happened so many times so far, and none of us remember the bills in specific, or which politician voted for or against it last time. In fact we don't know the voting history of any politician.
@witchescauldron We don't know how many bills are up in any given legislature in any given week. We don't have a real structure to interrogate if a given bill is good or bad. We have no epistemic framework, and it's draining. Instead we are stuck in a manic depressive hype spiral by our news sources, who we also rely on to act as our memory. Hashtags don't address this problem, they just feed into it.
@witchescauldron I want a system that actually helps my get a sense of this elephant that we are all touching, instead of a worse version of the neoliberal one that is broke and broken.
@MrLocal It's almost as if the #dotcons have been designed to work in this way ;)

@MrLocal this is what the #openweb hashtags are used for, as told to organize memmery inside app data and across the #openweb

Though they do this as a folksonermy rather than a traditional hierarchy. how to comunicate this better~?

@MrLocal you don't know the history of hashtags? That they are for organizing knolage, not for self-promotion as used in the #dotcons

The devouring of the #openweb by this #techmess is a big part of the communication gap, how can we meadate this?

@witchescauldron That's not my experience with them. I want to know more about OGB, What has membership looked like so far? How many instances are participating currently?
@MrLocal it's a defined project meany people have had input) looking for coders, we have one ready to work, but it needs a collective... so waiting, one coder is a problem a few are a messy solution ;)
