The reason Omicron was bred in the US, you ask? In my opinion, this highly-transmissible mutation was bred out of the large-scale (at the rate of six tweets per second at its peak), paid Trend Takeover (by foreign state bad actors) disinformation campaign on Twitter, aimed at Americans, that hit its peak on Sept. 11, 2021:

That was the *second* disinformation campaign in 2021. First one ended with Delta.

Twitter was the pandemic equivalent to the world as Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines was to the Rwandan genocide, is what I'm saying.

Tens of millions are dead, two variants, the second of which has become impossible to bring under control. All because of Twitter.

@riedlr @luckytran It is not reasonable to suggest that tens of thousands of people descending on NYC for a day of unmasked, drunken, close-up revelry may have had no impact on a surge which started showing up on test numbers just a few days later. Sure, it wasn't the sole cause of the surge, but Dr. Tran didn't say it was, they said it was a contributing factor.
In short, causation, not correlation.

@luckytran Not only do Americans not learn from experience, we actively refuse to learn.

Spreading covid is the national policy now, thanks largely to the people who -- insisting that their convenience superseded any rights of others not to be infected with a disease that sickens and kills -- forced the rest of us to live in their world.
