@q I’m guessing a gritter is a plow?
@q and how much snow requires a gritter? An inch or 2 is left for sun here, unless it’s freezing. Now what throws you into panic mode 6+ inches?

@CharliDuffy6 @q Half the time (probably much more even!) it’s not even snow that is the issue but *ice*. Scotland exists with a winter climate bang on freezing!

....and most of these gritters - certainly in S half of Scotland - are not out because of snow but bc of that ice risk.

@CharliDuffy6 @q Oh sorry spotted your first Q: yes and no! A glitter will usually be capable of snow-ploughing but they are for spreading ‘grit’ = rock salt.
