I’ve spent a couple of hours on Matodon and it reminds me of what the internet was like back in the mid 1990s. Does anyone remember IRC? Dial up bulletin boards? Like that but better. #FirstImpressions

Oh yeah that client was shareware. Luckily today there are some very good clients that are FLOSS 8-)

@FreyaSu Pirch probably. I used mIRC at first, but then switched to xchat (even on Windows), then to command-line clients for linux, #irssi fist, and now #weechat, since when #freenode went down
