@SpockResists invent a new derogatory word for people who need to be villified. Attach a schema to it that means nothing about the person except that they’re naive and dangerous. It’s a basic propaganda campaign that seems to have worked well.

I see your point. Though I had a pet peeve with the word "woke" from the first time I heard it, 'cuz we already HAD words for all of that. But no, someone had to come up with a new lingo twist... and this is how that backfired.

I've also been damned as an "intellectual."

I keep wonder if they have realized that using "Woke" as a pejorative implies that they are themselves unconscious?

@SpockResists The Left also often criticizes as "Woke" those who raise mere symbols of defiance (such as hashtags or flags) rather than to advocate actually using *power* to stop oppression. But as usual, centrist Democrats pretend the Left doesn't exist, because the message of the Left is inconvenient for those who still insist that capitalism and democracy, equality, or ecology are compatible.

@SpockResists Even the word "Resistance" for the Left seems to imply one is not actually *defeating* the enemy, but rather only applying efforts to slow (but not stop) the progress of the enemy. This is why the Left prefers the word Revolution. But Revolution implies capitalism is abolished, which is why upper middle income centrist Democrats don't like to use this word. They still cannot (of refuse to) see that capitalism itself is what is inexorably causing the majority of the oppression.
