My great-grandmother (my mother's mother's mother) was a marvelous seamstress, the sort of person who could look at a dress in the store and then go home and make it. I think of her when I check if a fabric pattern matches at the seams. Today I'm making zipper pouches as Chanukah gifts for the three niblings, and I'm using her ironing board that I somehow inherited. She'd be so proud :)

Did Great-Grandma have to stop in the middle of a project to purchase more thread in just the right colour, too? I bet she did. It's time to have a craft store adventure!
Craft store adventure was a success - I bought *only* the one colour thread and a pair of thread snips that I'd meant to buy - and nothing else. No yarn, no fabric, no extra scissors, no just-in-case thread, no hooks, snaps, latches, beads, or any other of the thousand things that called my name from the shelves. The sewing project can continue!

I wanted to take a picture of the project in progress for posterity - and yeah, half of the loft is just pure, delightful, arts and crafts space, full of potential and possibility. (The folding table and ironing board aren't usually out, though.) I've always wanted a space like this, and I'm having a hard time putting into words just how lucky I feel right now.

@emery That looks AMAZING! I know that feeling, and it is SO GOOD! :D
@IrradiatedBeef Thanks! :D Guess we've made it, huh.
