This is a very long shot...

Back in the day I used to ride an RD350LC, that I regret ever selling. I just looked up the reg number and my bike is still in existence and has been SORNed earlier this year.

This is the long shot bit - does anyone know anyone who might know the owner of A601 SGT, and if they aren't using it, do they want to sell?

That's

A601 SGT

It's a black RD350LC but is registered as being white. I'm not sure if it's changed colour or a mistake in the reg.

Please boost!

Wahay! I've found a photo of the bike! Here she is, along with the totally normal owner. Please bear in mind that this was the 80's and everyone looked weird.
@Naich removing the flight recorder for download between sorties?
@Naich Those were one of the nicest bikes back then....when Yamaha was in top form of almost everything they came out with.
@VDA It was an absolute hooligan bike. If you had sat mother Theresa on it she would have been popping wheelies within 10 minutes.
@Naich Short fork rake will do that for you. I just remember it was one of those bikes that sounded bigger and badder than it was (for it's displacement), especially with the right exhaust....
@VDA The handling was brilliant. People used to put a YPVS engine in an LC frame to get the best of both worlds. It was quick and you could learn it over until the centre stand was scraping along the road. It was surprisingly forgiving. I think it was the only bike I never came off, weirdly.
@Naich
Good luck! Hope you find your long lost wheels.
@Naich what a beauty of a bike ๐Ÿ˜
@Naich If you're in UK and know where last owner lived it might be worth joining the "Nextdoor" website and asking on there. The site is dire generally but helpful.

@Naich That's the first, non-YPVS model?

I borrowed a mate's 250LC and rode through London on it. Insane. At every traffic light, bog-bog-bog, more revs and clutch slip, WaaaAAAAH.

Later, had a TDR250 with a Stan Stephens tune. Had no idea how to look after it, so it ate pistons and rings. Absolutely hilarious for the brief moments it ran hard between rebuilds.

@jbond You can't beat the experience of a mid size 2 stroke. It's pure hooligan fun. It's like riding any bike until the revs hit 5 or 6k then as you say, waaaaAAAAAHHH... ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
@Naich always wanted an LC (or YPVS) or a KR1S, although Iโ€™m not too keen on the idea of piston rings being a consumable item ๐Ÿ˜‚
@Hydrophilous It's ok. There's a tank for piston rings next to the 2 stroke oil tank.
@Naich Try posting on Reddit. /r/CasualUK might be able to help.
@Naich Same, except mine was an air-cooled one. So incredibly sexy. So incredibly tame, right up to 6000 RPM, then so suddenly and incredibly not.

@Naich

The Widowmaker. Few bikes deserved that name more.

@Naich you didn't happen to keep the v5 number? If so you could narrow the search to an area by seeing where it was moted
@Naich This is a Christmas story, good luck
@Naich this was always the bike I wanted.

@Naich was thinking that if you knew the V5C number you could check where it was last MOT'd and perhaps jump on a local facebook group and ask around

@L555BAT Unfortunately I don't have the V5C number. I've joined a couple of FB groups and the LC owners' club.
@Naich Good luck with this!
@AT80 Thanks. No luck yet, but at least I have a 350LC now, even if its not the same one. Hopefully getting a proper tank for it on Saturday.
@Naich This is my mostly original 1994 K75. I was going to rat it but it's too nice a model! I suspect your pocket rocket will out-accelerate mine by some margin. I down-sized to match my age and fading competencies!
@AT80 Wow, I haven't seen one of those for a while. Looks great!
@Naich ooh. Nice. Best of luck. There're a few bikes of similar era that I'd very much like. Not really fussy but rd350/250lc or cb250/400 top of my list. Doubt I'll ever get one though - Issy says I'm not allowed in case I break myself ๐Ÿ˜‰
@capnthommo
Strangely enough, I did get one (although not my original one), and I did break myself on it. Issy knows what she is talking about!
@Naich yeah. So did I. Still doesn't stop me dreaming though.
@Naich
I had an RD250 for a while, so I know what you like about that bike... These days, no, I wouldn't.
