UCLAB PotsdamToday we are publishing the KLIMAKARTEN project in collaboration with @tazgetroete. We designed and produced both physical and digital #postcards containing #datavis covering various aspects of #climateProtection and mitigation in Germany.
For each of Germany's 401 districts and 16 states, the reader can explore climate protection postcards across five sectors: from energy to waste. The aim of our research is to study readers' engagement with visualizations of climate protection — across multiple media channels.
Our key assumption is that communication of climate change can help the reader in developing interest and engage with local implications of climate change, rather than causing feelings of anxiety and numbness.
Our goal is to foster exploration and comparison of different regions to show the regional relevance of climate protection. The postcards are published across @tazgetroete platforms: social media, print, and website – ensuring a multi-modal and cross-media experience.
