GOD SMITES MUSK for misusing Latin quote ‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei.'

Boost to SMITE MUSK!

@godpod I'm not actually a big fan of the original quote. Tom Nicholas explains it well here (https://youtu.be/Ns_qnfUqEJI) but the gist is that people in authority gain by delegitimising crowds and attributing a madness to them. I do support Elon Musk's version (and indeed, today's popular version) of the quote in most cases where the people aren't grossly ignorant about the topic at hand, and I believe that the modification of the quote has nothing to do with the quality of its message.

@godpod Of course, I wholeheartedly disagree with Trump's presence on Twitter, having previously used it to incite an insurrection. Elon has gotten a HUGE sampling bias by putting the poll from his personal account.

At the same time I disagree with the glorification of a quote I find problematic to criticize Musk - because as far as I am concerned, the problem isn't the quote, it's every damn thing else.
