🇵🇭@godpod I've only ever looked up to one Catholic preacher. The things he built up were a shelter for indigent elders, another one for orphans, and a third for single pregnant moms who need an alternative to abortion. He does his preaching in rented venues.
I think he's doing it right.

Suggestion: Deny all Mega Churches' building or remodeling permits until they have created truly affordable housing, especially for the homeless and other fellow humans, that is equal to the size of their churches forevermore.

boojit@godpod it's a good joke but I feel like our tendency for mega solutions across the board is part of the problem. Instead of "mega homeless shelters" why not do a "mega" number of "micro" affordable housing options serving each neighborhood. Eg: Let each city block manage its own small, manageable number of unhomed folks, vs trying to forget unhomed folks exist by trying to hide them away in some dystopian mega shelter on the other side of town (gee I wonder which side of town it would be on).

Huntington WV has a better, yet small handle on this with individual apartments and subsidies. Gives them an address (!), privacy, security.
