Not all scientific findings are accomplished by professionals. This is what dedicated individuals can do. The Human Diaspora: Illustrated through a Single Y SNP

@kwheaton very cool! Are these dates based on the Big Y Time Tree or something else?
@theDNAgeek the dates of the ancient remains are based on the dates ascribed to the individuals by archaelogists. The dates for U152, L2 etc are based on FTDNA 's estimates. The other dates are based on the historic record. I just think it's pretty dam cool what we have done in 7 years.
@kwheaton ah, okay. I was curious how you determined that the SNP was 4000 years old and not older.
@theDNAgeek its a range of 4000-4500 years ago.
@kwheaton gotcha! Don’t you just love this stuff? I’m excited to see how FTDNA develops the Time Tree and how well it correlates with projects like yours.
@theDNAgeek indeed. If you read my earlier blig post. The interesections are everywhere. https://wheatonwood.com/2022/11/27/serendipity-time-travel-with-the-romans-with-a-twist-of-dna/
