This is a return to the days of the “alt right” & Charlottesville, & it’s likely Roger Stone pulling the strings. Trump will eventually “disavow.,” while leaving room for ambiguity, & his surrogates will still flirt w/ Fuentes & Kanye. But it may be enough to reel MAGA Jews back in. We’ll see. Stone calls politics “performance art.” He loves drama, has flirted w/ anti-semites b4, mentored Milo, & suggested a Trump/Kanye ticket in mid-Oct. #RogerStone #Kanye #kanyewest https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1597631194363224064.html

@jennycohn1: As the article notes, this is a return to the days of the “alt right” and Charlottesville. What the article doesn’t say, is that it’s likely the same bad actors pulling the strings from behind...…

@jennycohn The Stone show feels like it's in reruns. Can anyone cancel? Garland? Garland? Bueller?
@jennycohn Can someone please explain to me why Trump still had Jewish allies before this? After Charlottesville (very fine people) “stand back and stand by,” Kanye (“death con” on Jewish people,) and now Fuentes? Are they really surprised to see him playing footsie with the same people he has always played footsie with?
@JenX He supported Israel. That’s it.
@JenX @jennycohn Several reasons. Many are businessmen in the Corporate World and man of them are Republicans anyway and that tradition is unfortunately passed down to generations He moved US Embassy to Jerusalem. But many were pissed at him when he ended the Nuclear agreement with Iran allowing Iran to continue to invest in Nuclear technology.

@jennycohn Agreed, especially about the ambiguity that Trump uses. Trump likes to communicate his endorsement of the Nazis while concurrently appearing to disavow them.

Also, what does it mean that almost no Republicans have forcefully disavowed Trump’s antisemite dinner guests?

@jennycohn some very evil dudes that flynnstonekanyefuentestrump crowd.
