The Big Sleep (1946) based on the Raymond Chandler book of the same name. This celebrated noir stars Humphrey Bogart as the hard boiled detective Phillip Marlowe and Lauren Bacall as the femme fatale. Director Howard Hawk does a great job bringing this story to life and I could go on critiquing it but really it’s a Bogie and Bacall film. Their onscreen chemistry is the stuff of legands. All you are going to do is have your eyes glued to them. Bogart makes a memorable Marlow and he is my second favorite actor to play that role. Just watch it if you haven’t already.
