I have too much #mint and need some suggestions for what to do with it. Ideally the result would be shelf stable, or at least last longer than the fresh mint I have. #Cooking #NoWaste
@rhornbek when I had too much mint I dried it (in an oven on low) and used it for tea. I kept it in a plastic pot with a lid and it seemed to last well, although I used it all up within about a month so beyond that I don’t know!
@Nixedpun thanks! How low, and for how long?
@rhornbek oh no I knew you’d ask that and I honestly don’t remember haha! But I just looked it up and it says 75 degrees celcius for about 2 hours, which sounds right. I have also dried them just on the kitchen counter which gives less chance of ruining them by over cooking them but it only really works if you have somewhere warm and dry (I did it during the summer) and it still took more than a day for them to dry. I hope that helps!
@Nixedpun gotcha. Yeah it is pretty cold here right now, so oven it is! Thanks.
