Just saw #BeastsofAI with AI creations from midjourney.
Though I don't support the ethics of siphoning proprietary art from the web, the tech is impressive.

From tech pov only: this will hurt the art community at large. Artists trying to stand out from the crowd from sheer skills and low pricetags are finding a competitor with faster, stronger skills and even lower pricetag.

An idea to get away with it.

It can't tell whether what it created will be good for your game or not. If the direction is the right one.

Lastly it can't (yet) export a painting in psd, layered to be reused for marketing purpose, game art, animation etc.

To only rely on our portfolios, on our sheer skills and lowered prices is not an option anymore.

@alcy fighting against IA is like fighting against photoshop, cars, or technology in general. They only are tools, we can adjust, learn to use it and make a better work (ans better business) with it.
The artist community cannot help it : the change is comming. But as you said, IAs are not perfect, they cant replace us (yet).
