A Waterfall in Oregon, Multnomah Falls
@stux I've actually seen that waterfall in person, in Portland (before it became big).
@stux I've been there, but never in winter.
@stux I drove through here once and saw all of the falls. I forget how many there were, but they were stunning.
@stux Never been there in the snow...what a view
@stux I just deactivated my Twitter acct because I can't handle the crazyness and first thing I see when I logged in here was your waterfall. I go out of my way to find waterfalls when I travel so this feels like a very good omen.

@stux Exquisite photo! (Or, video, rather. But kind of like a moving photo.)

Question…and I’m figuring that as an admin, you’ll have the answer. I see a lot of convo about #AltText... Is it possible to put alt-text on a video? Is it expected? If yes and yes, did you intend that the description in the post serve as the alt-text, or is that not as good for people with screen readers? (I’m not trying to give you a hard time - genuinely trying to learn.) Thanks!

@stux my daughter would be looking for Elsa..
@stux looks like a 💀rug under the bridge
@stux wow. No other words are needed.
@stux That is gorgeous. A winter wonderland.
@stux Wow! I’ve seen some snowy scenery, but nothing like that. Magical, but so jolly cold!
@stux Nice photo. I live something like 20 miles from there.
Was that taken today, or another winter day?
@llywrch it’s not snowing here yet so it’s not a new video.
@legallaurak It was snowing in Hillsboro this morning, laying on the ground for a bit. Which surprised me. Glad it didn’t stick, since I’d have to drive home in it.
@stux Magnificent! I absolutely love Oregon💕
@stux I was just there last month - so beautiful
@stux The falls are beautiful all year round - I live here and hike it often. A wildfire nearly destroyed the area and the lodge about two years ago. Fortunately, fire crews could keep it at bay, but it was a close call. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
@stux that's gorgeous 😍
@stux Not far from where I live. This was February 2021. No snow this year (yet, lol).
@stux I’ll never get bored of looking at this. Thank you!
@stux I used to live in Oregon and treasure the memory of visiting Multnomah Falls. I miss that beautiful state.
@stux Radiator Springs Racers has a winter overlay? Sweet! #californiaadventure
@stux Thanks so much for sharing this! This waterfall and Powell’s Books were my two favorite places when I was in Portland!
@stux not too far from my home.
@stux That is stunning! Thanks for sharing it with us.
@stux I approve mouseover gif animation
@stux one of my absolute fav pkaces.
@stux Gorgeous. Never been there in the winter, only summer. It’s beautiful then too. #oregon

@stux

Been there lots of times 😁, the most famous waterfall in Oregon! Always a nice area to visit!

@stux I hiked up to the top of those falls in my Evolution class in undergrad.

We were looking at natural selection where fish that grow too big are pushed over the falls.

Pretty cool class!

@stux beautiful. first image ive seen since coming over to mastadon . thank you.
@stux I think the wettest I’ve ever been, outside of a shower or a pool, was standing on that bridge in a pooring rain. Had a windbreaker, which I had thought to be rainproof. I was sadly mistaken. I was quite a ways beyond soaked to the skin, and chilly to boot. It was Thanksgivingday, about 4 yrs ago.
@stux amazing! I was there in summer 2014 with my 2 sisters. Warm memories… thx for sharing.
@stux I have seen it like this in the early 80's very beautiful, very cold downdraft.
@stux This reminds me of a very old ( German I think) children's TV series/film called the Singing, Ringing Tree. It's about time they remade the series to terrify another generation of children! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Singing_Ringing_Tree

@stux it looks like LOTR CGI it’s so unbelievably stunning 😍
@stux Haven't been in a few years, but it looks beautiful IRL.
@stux can anyone else see the devil face? Creep me OUT
@stux When I lived in Portland, I visited every couple of weeks and went hiking in the area
@stux Moriarty awaits Mr Holmes !.🧐

@stux @antonioserrata

Nice! Today? We have family in Portland.

@stux This is my area of the world. And yes, it’s beautiful. It’s rarely covered in snow like this but when it is, it’s magical. The hike up to the bridge is for those who are up for an energetic walk but it’s worth it!
