Want an introduction to #CulturallyResponsiveTeaching, not to be confused with #CriticalRaceTheory?

You need to watch this 2017 webinar via Corwin.

In anticipation of reading Zaretta hammond’s book, Culturally Responsive Teaching and The Brain, I decided to watch her webinar (twice, it was that good!).

Reflections on Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain Webinar

@mguhlin @EduMatch Hammond’s book was our middle school teacher read a summer ago. We are still referencing it frequently at faculty meetings. Powerful ideas that we are working to implement.
@brasst @EduMatch Agreed, it is such a powerful book. Not only because it addresses the power of schema (teaching with culture in mind), but because it pairs it with high-effect sized instructional strategies and what we know about the brain.
@mguhlin I am a HUGE Zaretta Hammond fan! Good to know about the recording, I haven’t seen that. Thank you!
@Ziagrrrl The recording is fantastic. I actually downloaded all her videos and listened to them, studied, and took notes on them. Really powerful concepts. She’s masterful at responding to questions.
