Turn it in has a checkered history and in many ways is the model of surveillance, carceral, intellectual property stealing capitalistic technology.

I am really saddened that we see far less conversation about trusting students, knowing students, and creating student worthy tasks that would largely eliminate the desire or need for these technologies that do virtually nothing to improve student learning.

Laptop roll-in for my middle schoolers today. Time to send their Lenis (Lenovo laptops) to summer camp for a much-needed refurbish. Expecting some separation anxiety, but less tech over summer is a good thing for many. (+ We accommodate families with need.) #edtech #edutooter
Noticed at my daughter's Cum Laude induction that only 3 of the 20+ kids were boys. Lots to consider, but there are specific areas with gender disparity (like CS & engineering), as well as disparity for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks.
