It's gotten me to nearly 10K mostly Albertan/Canadian followers & literally scores of millions of reads. How do you just turn a corner on all that?
All of which brings me to (in my admittedly meandering & roundabout way - you can see how these things get up 100 posts) to Prime Minister Trudeau's testimony before the #EmergenciesActInquiry (heretofore referred to as the #EAInquiry) and what remains to be done if we indeed want to prevent anything similar from ever happening again.
(hint: the EAI on its own ain't gonna cut it)

And I get that Twitter always had a bit of rot to it. Hell I wrote a whole 🧵 about it. Because *of course* I did. it's what I do.
I'm still coming to terms with all this, yet another transition to manage but it's not just that. It's not just annoying. It's cheating. They can't win the debate so they seized the means of debate. I'm not calm about it. I'm happy I found #Masto but make no mistake: I'm spitting nails ANGRY.

Progressive Twitter is mid-decimation but not through any failing of ours. In a lot of ways we've been winning lately. Being able to communicate around the world with good people facing the exact same forces & tactics has played a bigger role than we'll ever know.
That got cut out by a single Oiligarch, right at the knees. I'm glad to be Over Here but a fraction of the voices I need to do what I do are over here with me.

Have I written my last 🧵 Over There? It all comes back to me lending that place credibility. Lending HIM credibility. Which lends THEM credibility. The people willingly or unwittingly co-degrading this world so only the wealthy win.
