It turns out that his employees at SpaceX were "managing" him and preventing his dumber ideas from being implemented.

I think what we're seeing at Twitter is what happens when he doesn't have employees managing him.

@tofugolem Apparently, when he worked at PayPal, one investor said that the company wouldn’t exist anymore if they had let him do his thing for 6 more months. The man is clearly incapable of understanding the intricacies of a company, he just runs along with meme ideas.

@tofugolem @thelinuxEXP But the tunnel was brilliant! It allows you to bypass the traffic jam on the surface by joining the traffic jam underground. Traffic has simply been solved. Investing in public transport to be able to build less car dependent communities? Nooo, Tesla car in tunnel go brrrr
