ursamajor@fraying @clive @amy @Emilynussbaum if I could bring back one long deprecated Flickr feature, it’d be the way you could leave footnotes all over a picture. Easy to miss if you just scrolled by, but one serendipitous tap and you were drawn deeper into the story of that photo. We lost so much context when that feature went away, though I don’t remember if it was before or after the Yahoo! acquisition.

The second life it’s had, partly because even those of us who don’t use it regularly anymore but used to keep getting reminded of it by screenshots of Tumblr posts in FB meme groups, go to check on these threads we remembered, and discover that the story has grown since the last time it went around. I’m intrigued that they’re adding support for ActivityPub.
