What was the nail in the coffin for you when it came to the #birdsite ?

For me it was when Andrew Tate showed up in my timeline.

#exodus #twittermigration #twexit

@carlwhyz For me it was the jump in harassment in general.
@dorkland I really didn't spend much time on there in the weeks after the whole sink episode. I knew if I did, I'd feel sick for that reason.
@carlwhyz I was there mostly to point people I wanted to keep in touch with towards places I could find them.
@carlwhyz MTG being let in. I downloaded my archive yesterday and will deactivate tomorrow
@chestas Oh, I didn't know she'd been "let out"!
Ew.

@carlwhyz That came close for me as well as the graphic porn GIFs that suddenly started to appear. UGH UGH UGH

Still there, though, albeit with massive blocking going on.

@Sharoney I'm so glad I didn't see any of those gifs. Yuck.
@carlwhyz For me I’d have to say it was when Hitler invaded France. Oh sorry, wrong thread. I guess it in this instance it would be Elon taking over Twitter. Sorry, my mistake.
@carlwhyz I don't even know who Andrew Tate is and he just seemed to be everywhere. He looks like a pig.
@hambledown_road
He is the very epitome of revolting mysoginistic abuser. The second I saw him celebrated on there alongside Musk and Trump, I just knew I had to leave.
It's too heartbreaking raising sons knowing he and his followers (who he pays) spread the filth they do.
@carlwhyz I can't even anymore. Hate is just so exhausting.
@hambledown_road It really is šŸ˜”
@carlwhyz The older I get, the simpler my needs are. I just want nice conversation, to be inspired by ideas and people and their (good) endeavours. Twitter, for years, has traded on its ability to conquer and divide (yes - I meant that word switch). It damages people, their intellect, their compassion. And it trades on that.

@hambledown_road I think that's very true. Some days I felt pure angst at what I'd see unfolding, sometimes between people I'd followed and respected. People celebrated by thousands. Sometimes I'd inadvertently find myself stuck in the fray, too, out of ignorance.

I've pre-emptively blocked them here so I never get stuck in one of those scenarios again.

I like it here. So far I find it really wholesome.

@carlwhyz Combination of layoffs, posting misinfo (Pelosi attack), and encouraging people to vote GOP.
@carlwhyz For me, it was when he fired half his workforce. The way he did it really got up my nose.
