The family of a green card holder “was told he died in ICE custody. Then they learned he’s alive — in a hospital in Guatemala, they say.”

When this is all over—and I have to believe it will be over one day—there need to be trials.

I changed the handles and screennames on old Twitter accounts, deleted them, and thus deleted all my posts. I then opened new Twitter accounts under the old names so no one can co-opt those handles. I'm not posting over there--I'm just keeping the accounts so I can read posts from people who aren't here.

I also opened 2 accounts under the same handles at Bluesky, which is where I now spend most of my social media time. That site is far less confusing than Mastodon or CounterSocial.

The race is nominally nonpartisan, but the conservative candidate, Daniel Kelly, was first appointed to the Court (with no prior judicial experience) after he defended the GOP gerrymander in 2011. He campaigned from GOP HQ in 2020, and is a paid GOP consultant.
Kelly has been clear he will oppose new abortion access or more representative maps. Perhaps the most disturbing part of his record with the GOP is that he was an election counsel as party members pursued a fake elector scheme.
Okay, between Twitter, Post, Mastodon, CounterSocial, Facebook and Spoutible, I now have six personal social media accounts, not counting professional and group accounts. Am I overdoing it?

Weekends should be three days:

Day 1: Be lazy af. Recoup from the work week. Binge watch TV. Play video games.

Day 2: Go outside. Be active. Climb a mountain. Have beers with friends on a boat.

Day 3: Chores. Put on some good podcasts, do your laundry. Get groceries. Prepare.

Not a great sign for Twitter's finances that Musk is willing to nuke third-party apps in the hopes that can bring some trivial number of users back to their app/website to see more ads. The cost in fewer engaged users vastly outweighs the additional revenue--hence Twitter allowing third-party apps in the past.
