What was the nail in the coffin for you when it came to the #birdsite ?

For me it was when Andrew Tate showed up in my timeline.

#exodus #twittermigration #twexit

@carlwhyz I don't even know who Andrew Tate is and he just seemed to be everywhere. He looks like a pig.
@hambledown_road
He is the very epitome of revolting mysoginistic abuser. The second I saw him celebrated on there alongside Musk and Trump, I just knew I had to leave.
It's too heartbreaking raising sons knowing he and his followers (who he pays) spread the filth they do.
@carlwhyz I can't even anymore. Hate is just so exhausting.
@hambledown_road It really is 😔
@carlwhyz The older I get, the simpler my needs are. I just want nice conversation, to be inspired by ideas and people and their (good) endeavours. Twitter, for years, has traded on its ability to conquer and divide (yes - I meant that word switch). It damages people, their intellect, their compassion. And it trades on that.

@hambledown_road I think that's very true. Some days I felt pure angst at what I'd see unfolding, sometimes between people I'd followed and respected. People celebrated by thousands. Sometimes I'd inadvertently find myself stuck in the fray, too, out of ignorance.

I've pre-emptively blocked them here so I never get stuck in one of those scenarios again.

I like it here. So far I find it really wholesome.
