Brontë Grimm

As a photographer who loves 2:3 ratio, having to crop or add obnoxious borders to photos for Instagram was really frustrating, and photos I did that to never performed well. Well, I just remembered masto doesn’t do that, so I’m excitedly posting my least well received/most disliked piece, cause fvckit lol. Also, this is a rare self-portrait, because I really don’t like being in front of the camera lol.

@brontegrimm I've had a similar problem with Instagram. Cropping photos completely changes them, and borders are annoying.
This piece is really strong - I love it!

@lazcorp ooof! Sincerely, thank you, that means a lot! And yup, arbitrary pic ratios suck, and seriously, why they don’t allow the size of MOST phone pics is absurd lol

@lazcorp @brontegrimm side note in case either of you missed it (because I did!): when you add the image description you can move the target thing on the picture to adjust where it gets cropped.
No more awkward automatic crops!

@brontegrimm I hate that frame limitation too. Use apps like "no crop" all the time. And that isn't even the most annoying of their ways to limit the user experience in their own benefit. Not being able to include links wherever we want is ridiculous.

@brontegrimm It's really interesting to me how this photo has two moods that really feel strongly different depending on whether you're looking at the automatically cropped preview, or if you expand it and look at the whole thing.

Both are intensely powerful though, really nice work.
