A few days ago, I had never heard of mastodon.
This morning, I set up my own instance.
It doesn't work yet, and the domain produces a cute error, but I'm getting there. Feel free to help if you know what I'm doing wrong!

I've been thinking about doing similar myself with my personal domain, which isn't really used for anything except for email. Keep us posted how it goes :)
@daobenlau Thanks! Yeah the cute error went away after a few minutes and I was able to log into the server... 😀
But now I'm trying to figure out why I can't save any changes to my profile. Something something sudo... lol...
It's an experience. I've never even run a web site before, but there is something appealing about having control over my own speech with no billionaire able to stop me. (hopefully soon!)
