Please enjoy my recent #illustration. I visited Alto Adige this spring and was gobsmacked by the meadow flowers.

It's often noted that these wildflowers flavor the cow's milk and resulting #cheese. I never understood how this could possibly be true until I saw for myself the abundant flowers sparkling in the meadow. Each mouthful of grass must be full of them.

@megmaker When I was a kid, we had goats, and we always could taste what they had eaten in their milk - sometimes it was very pungent. (Definitely not my favourite thing when I was little!)
@shelley_wine Garlic and onions? Other stuff?
@megmaker I’m talking about 35 years ago, so I remember hating the milk more than what they are, but I do remember that thistles were one of the worst, chives and those Egyptian walking onions. They’d eat the tops if they got into the garden. And they loved getting into the garden.

@shelley_wine It's been said that you cannot fence a goat! I love them, they're such characters, but I could never keep them.

Thistle — yes, must be bitter!

@megmaker Yes, they’re sassy, brilliant animals with huge personalities and a sense of humour, too. I would have one with me now if I didn’t live in a city. And I’m not a vegetarian but I can’t eat goat.
