« freedom of speech doesn't apply to fascism »
The tricky part is defining “facism”. I guess everybody thinks they know it when they see it, but some people’s definitions are quite broad.
@mattgemmell it's a double-edged blade; we relied on basic rules imprinted upon us from birth, and reinforced in a variety in ways thereafter, that there were lines one simply did not cross. you don't enflame or incite, you don't insult, but respect, you carry the weight of all to share the burden instead of allowing another to fall.
we lost our way long, long ago.
@mattgemmell I’m libertarian and believe the world is a better place with smaller government.
Let’s get government out of deciding who can marry, woman’s bodies and deciding where children can use the toilet.
@mattgemmell yeah, but that's fine. You, like @cstross, have a voice and readership. And I have a lot of friends in #gamedev, and they are severely impacted by the comparatively smaller reach here. I just don't like the corporate shilling that brought us the tech hype waves.
(Plus you're a Scotsman, and that's always a plus in my book - I love Edinburgh...)
@mattgemmell I don't see that as a problem. Not only are people able to block the repetitive corporate offenders, but smaller businesses and professionals are less drowned out by the noise.
No more seeing the same add 100x because they had the big bucks to pay for it. Money means little to nothing for reach here.
