This is just one of the reasons why people have a problem with the #QatarWorldCup #WorldCup2022FiFA... πŸ‘‡πŸ»
Qatar

Exposing homophobia, denial of women's rights, exploitation of migrant labour and other human rights abuses in Qatar, in advance of the football World Cup in 2022 Qatar is hosting the 2022 World Cup. It is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Like all GCC member states, it has a ban on homos

@Antoninthewings Absolutely. I was looking around for a chart or article via Twitter whilst doing other things this morning. Thank you for finding exactly what I was thinking of. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
@TheStephenRalph that’s a war zone. Nothing is worth this

@TheStephenRalph that is staggering. They must have expected workers to do so in the intense heat. Qatar should never have been chosen to host
@TheStephenRalph coming back to this, can’t get it out of my head. So many questions. What must it have been like on site with people dying so regularly around you. How desperate were the workers to stay.
Could they leave?
@TheStephenRalph Excellent graphic really shows the problem! 😞 Should never have been permitted, especially as Quatar have reneged on so many of their β€˜commitments’ eg the wearing of rainbows. Considering they confiscated children’s toys with rainbows on! πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I wonder how they deal with rainbows 🌈 in the sky? Does everyone have to go inside or look at the ground?
@karbcam Just saw on BBC News that even rainbow laces were banned. Someone in the queue to get into a stadium yesterday had to remove their laces to get in to see the England match. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Madness. 🀬
@TheStephenRalph I suppose the only positive is that they are keeping it in the news for those with access to that news, simply by being so heavy handed? Sadly, probably not for the Qatari people! (Apologies for previous misspelling!)
@TheStephenRalph How do they teach light diffraction in school? 🌈 … or do they? πŸ€”
