Cool thing about #Mastodon: You can download posted videos without a 3rd party application: In the official app, tap on the video in your timeline and find the download button in the top right corner. In an app like #Tusky tap on the three dots beneath the video in your timeline and choose „Download media“.

@smartfilming not sure how I feel about that.
I know nothing is nailed down on the internet but it usually requires effort. Anyone who has spent a reasonable amount of time on said internet has usually built up an intolerance to effort so it balances out.
Just handing videos out isn’t necessarily helpful…🤷🏼‍♂️

@PlayfulComms I see your point but given the fact that restrictions for file size seem to be very limited for native video on Mastodon (I think 40MB), you probably only get videos that are quite compressed and/or short. And also it still requires *some* effort… I’m sure many people only find out about that feature later on or never.
