My first time ever on a TV set, I was nervous, intimated & worried about making foolish mistakes.

My union crew encouraged, mentored, & celebrated having having a real-life scientist working on their show. They’re why I was far more confident my first time on set for my next show!

#ThrowbackThursday to my first days on set overlooking the Stargate: Atlantis gateroom vs revelling in Destiny’s gateroom my first day on set for Stargate: Universe.

@mikamckinnon oh wow! Working on the set of Stargate must have been so cool! 😍

@Deathskitten Absolutely phenomenal!

Honestly still adore my Stargate cast & crew. They treated me so incredibly well, and the experience directly led to (still!) working on more shows over the years

@mikamckinnon oh I miss Starget series and I won all the series. Maybe I should start watching them again and look for you in the episodes.
@rastin You’ll only ever see my handwriting (& ideas), but you’ll see it a lot! I was never in front of the camera
@mikamckinnon oh bummer, but I’m still going to watch that series. It reminds me of my 30s.
@mikamckinnon I followed you for your rock-licking introduction, but finding you worked on Atlantis makes it even better! And as a Stargate fan, I’m thrilled to hear it was a great experience!
@mikamckinnon What a cool job! Did you ever see the SG1 set? (P.S. The SGU gate was huge!)
@nolan yes, but I didn’t take photos with it. I was too nervous and didn’t yet understand I could ask!
